CSW intervention

To build a therapeutic community of commercial sex workers (CSWs) and families and aid in their rehabilitation and building up in purity.

Approach

Rapha U has been working with a community of commercial sex workers since 2002.

Through these years, many have been reached out to with counselling, fellowship groups, teaching and to help them understand that their lives can be transformed.

These efforts are done with dignity while keeping from disclosing their identity and being sensitive to their privacy.

House visits to their homes, annual picnics – have been effective in building bridges into the community.

Rapha U has four goals for women in this vertical

Targeted Approach

Targeted approach includes assisting the children of sex workers being providing quality education with some of them being guided through College and Higher Education.

Value education, scholarships and keeping pace with their progress in school and college have been intervention efforts that have had mixed results.

Adolescent clubs have also been a point of intervention.

Choosing an alternate occupation that ensures purity and to rescue them from sex trade is the challenge.
